The Salesforce Technical Architect is responsible for all phases of the implementation lifecycle (conceive, assess, design, implement, and support) of Salesforce.com (SFDC) platform solutions to support the business requirements of BCBSMA business partners and product owners. The Salesforce Technical Architect works directly with both technical and business stakeholders, internal and external, and serves as a knowledge leader charged with innovative and transformative solutioning and implementation. As a highly trusted advisor to both internal and external partners serving the BCBSMA Salesforce ecosystem, the Salesforce Technical Architect engages in conversations with executive leaders, enterprise architects and business stakeholders that shape the architectural vision, inform and execute the enterprise Salesforce roadmap. A technical champion and advocate, the Salesforce Technical Architect drives optimization of Salesforce solutions needed to support BCBSMA’s strategic, operational and financial goals.
Responsibilities
- Create and document solution design that is in line with Vlocity (Salesforce Industries) best practices for use of data raptor, omni script, cards, and integration procedures
- Design leveraging a data-driven design framework, and leverage force.com or Vlocity (Salesforce Industries) features as appropriate to the overall design
- Lead business and functional requirements definition and prioritization/scoping of requirements and sizing of projects
- Set best practices including integration and application development, deployment, testing (unit and systems) and iterative refinement
- Serve as an escalation point for fellow architects, systems analysts, integrators, developers on all technical questions or issues
- Collaborate with cross-functional team (strategy/planning, architecture, business operations and enterprise technology delivery) to determine how best to implement Salesforce Industries solutions
- Serve as the technical subject matter expert for Salesforce Industries projects across BCBSMA enterprise, and across the entire project lifecycle
Qualifications
- 8+ years’ overall solutions/technical architect experience
- 5+ years in SFDC and 2+ years In Vlocity/Salesforce Industries
- Required Salesforce Certifications: Architecture Track, OmniStudio/Vlocity strongly preferred
- Desired Salesforce Certifications: Consultant Track, UX Designer
- Proficiency with Salesforce (APEX, Visualforce, Lightning/LWC, Force.com), Vlocity DataRaptor, Vlocity Cards, Vlocity OmniScript, VlocityDX, Vlocity Integration Procedures, Vlocity CPQ, Vlocity EPC and Ratings Engine
- SFDC and Vlocity Data Model knowledge
- Integration experience using REST (JSON, XML), SOAP APi
- Experience in Dev Ops for CI/CD using Copado
- CPQ (configure, price, code) AngularJS HTML5 & CSS3 CSM Project leadership experience
- In-depth knowledge of key processes in industry-specific CRM solutions (e.g. Quote to Order, MACD, Policy Management)
- Proven track record of successful project delivery of enterprise Salesforce implementations
- Completed Vlocity implementations highly preferred
- Process modeling tools and best practices

- Healthcare industry experience, preferably payer subvertical
- Excellent communication skills, equally comfortable with crafting emails as leading a white-board discussion, or delivering a technical presentation

- Detail-oriented with the ability to learn quickly to leverage new concepts, technologies, and solutions
- Ability to work independently and be a self-starter
- Cutting edge innovator who continually studies new technologies and functionality, and is involved in projects that push the capabilities of existing technologies
Preferred Experience and Skills
- Experience creating the technical architecture for complex Salesforce implementations
- Ability to create supporting technical documentation, detailed design specifications and effort estimations
- Experience working in iterative projects, and with deployment strategies/processes (staging environment vs. production)
- Experience soliciting, gathering, and analyzing user input and requirements
- Experience documenting user stories and creating to-be process flow diagrams
- Experience collaborating with business stakeholders
- Experience writing detailed documentation of business processes and procedures
- Proven ability leveraging analytical and problem-solving skills in a fast-paced environment
- Strong presentation, communication (written and verbal) skills, and interpersonal skills
- Ability to juggle and prioritize multiple tasks within a collaborative team environment
- Demonstrate flexibility and willingness to do what it takes to get the job done
- Possess drive and desire to learn and grow both technical and functional skills
